Face-to-Face Final Expense

How to Door Knock Final Expense Leads

Door knocking works best when it is planned from lead inventory, not treated as random canvassing. The consumer already requested information, the agent understands the territory, and every stop should have a clear reason and outcome.

Start with the right territory

Face-to-face agents should avoid buying an unnecessarily broad statewide campaign when they only intend to work a few counties. Drive time can quietly destroy the economics of otherwise usable leads.

In RiseGen's current paid-order records, 100 of 135 lead orders used county targeting while 35 used statewide targeting. That preference reflects how important workable geography is, especially for field agents.

Build routes from unresolved leads

Filter for appropriate leads marked Door Knock, Follow Up or unreachable after the planned phone sequence. Group nearby addresses, choose a logical starting point and remove stops that already reached a final disposition.

RiseGen's route tools keep the map tied to the lead record so the agent can move from address to notes, household context and the next action without rebuilding the day in a separate spreadsheet.

Arrive as the agent who followed up

Introduce yourself, identify your agency and connect the visit to the consumer's original request. Do not act as if the homeowner should recognize you when there has not yet been a conversation.

Keep the opening simple and respectful. The objective is to confirm interest and earn the conversation, not overwhelm the consumer on the doorstep.

Document every visit

Record whether the consumer was home, whether contact occurred, what was discussed and what happens next. A completed door knock can produce an appointment, callback, closed opportunity or future visit.

Accurate notes prevent duplicate conversations and help agents distinguish true lead problems from incomplete execution.

Protect the economics

Measure drive time, stops completed, contacts, appointments and applications. A route with fewer tightly grouped stops can outperform a larger route spread across several hours of driving.

County targeting, disciplined routing and updated dispositions work together. Buying local leads without organizing the route leaves much of the geographic advantage unused.

Frequently asked questions

Should I door knock every Final Expense lead?

Not automatically. Use your sales model, local requirements, consumer context and prior contact attempts to decide which leads belong on a route.

When should I door knock an unreachable lead?

After prompt phone and compliant text follow-up has not connected and an in-person visit is appropriate for your operation.

Why use county-targeted leads for field sales?

They can reduce drive time and make it easier to build compact routes around the territory an agent actually serves.
